Several celebrities live in the area. Hobie Alter conceived of his bestselling Hobie catamaran locally. You will find some historic properties mixed in with bungalow style homes and some very modern homes that have recently been renovated.
Capistrano beach has a metered parking lot. There is also free street parking off of PCH. If you park on the street there is a overpass you can walk across to cross over the train tracks.
At Capistrano Beach you can find bathrooms, drinking fountains, benches along the sand, fire pits, showers, basketball court, and a bike rental shop. Capo Beach offers day parking. The overpass from the street parking, empties into this day parking area. The parking is very close to the sand so you can avoid long walks when carrying your things.
To the north is Doheny State Beach. Doheny does require paid parking as well. Doheny is a campground and they also have a boat launch
